You are assessed through online tests and a final photographic assessment
 
During the main part of the course at the end of each section there is an online test using a combination of multi-choice questions.
 
You must pass each test before proceeding to the next lesson.
 
You can re-take these tests as often as you wish.
 
At the end of the course you will be asked to submit photographs online for a final assessment by your tutor.

If you pass you will be awarded a Certificate of Photography Level I.

The course is entirely compatible with any PC, Apple, Tablet and even smart phones.
 
Tablets will work fine.
 
A smart phone is usable, but may be a little small for viewing some images.
 
 

No, you do not need Photoshop to take this course.
 
We do cover post-processing of images using software, but you will use a freely downloadable software package for this.
 
If you are already a Photoshop user, then what you will learn will be directly applicable to Photoshop - and lots of other software packages too.

A digital camera with an interchangeable lens.
 
This includes digital SLRs, micro four-thirds cameras and bridge cameras.
 
You can choose any make of camera, all the common manufacturers are covered like Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic and many more.
 
This course is not suitable for compact cameras without interchangeable lenses or cameraphones.
 
In addition you will find a tripod very useful.
 
We cover other photography accessories, but you will not need them to complete the course.

No, there are no age restrictions for enrolling.
 
The course is completely suitable for any age.
 
We would not recommend it to students under the age of 12.
